This week, TAC*ONE Consulting is conducting training at Aurora Public Schools, which will incorporate Active Shooter Training and Mass Casualty Care for Law Enforcement. Active Shooter training is our specialty, and hitting close to home here in Colorado, it is very important for our Law Enforcement Officers to know how to respond effectively to an Active Gunman. During this portion, participants learn how to recognize and respond to an Active Shooter, take action as first responders, and neutralize the threat. Participants also learn tactics that are important in rendering aid and correctly evacuating injured subjects. Imagine being the first one on scene to a mass school shooting, would you know what to do? Emergency Medical Services response is an average of five minutes, if the scene is even safe to provide emergency care… A severely injured person can bleed to death in 3-5 minutes. Our students participate in reality-based scenarios that emphasize applying medical-care techniques used to control major arterial bleeding, treating for shock, proper application of a tourniquet and various other skills needed to make a difference in life or death situation. We have the privilege of training with Aurora Public Schools a couple times a year. They always enjoy our class and continue to invite us back for training!
